Trip to the Park!
We took a stroll in Talon's new red wagon from Grandma and Grandpa and headed to the park today. Here are some photos and a video of him on the swings!

Dancing and Whistling!
Talon has discovered how much fun dancing is! He was dancing at Grandma and Grandpa's with Grandpa and I watching. He wiggled his little butt and it's so cute!
Today Talon was crawling around and just started whistling! I was so surprised to hear him! It was hilarious!

New Way of Crawling!
Talon has discovered an easier way to crawl, and I think it will only be a matter of days before he masters the crawl. He is no longer dragging his body along the floor, but doing a mini-push up and then reaching ahead of himself to move forward! Mike calls it an inchworm, I think that's an appropriate description!
Talon's Baptism
We had Talon's Baptism today, Sunday May 16, 2010. It was a beautiful sunny day! A perfect day! He was so well behaved, smiling during the service and he didn't cry at all when they poured the holy water on his head! Lisa said that Sierra was a baldy until she was baptized so we will see if any hairs start sprouting on his head now! We had a reception in the church basement afterwards and Talon enjoyed mango while we ate delicious food and cake!

Enjoying Lunch Together!
Today Talon and I had butternut squash soup for lunch. I don't know if I was eating baby food or he was eating adult food...I think it's a "what came first, the chicken or the egg" situation haha.

Typical Boy
Talon loves to stand on the couch and make farting noises by putting his mouth on the leather. Typical boy!
Best Mother's Day Ever!
Talon gave me the best gift for Mother's Day, a chance to sleep in! He slept until about 9:30a.m. and then he and Daddy gave me their gifts. Mike cut out Talon's hand prints and put them on a pop up Mother's Day card for me. It was so cute! They got me a beautiful frame that says Mommy & Me and a Chapter's gift card (because they know how much I love to read and that I finally have a chance to now!) Mike also got me a vase that I told him I liked and a swim chair with an umbrella for Talon this summer. What a great idea!
We went to the Ontario Science Centre for Mother's Day and had a blast! It was so much fun for Talon, and for us! They have a lot of things for toddlers to do and when Talon slept Mommy and Daddy had fun with all of the experiments! We couldn't believe how big the Science Centre was and how much there was to do! We think a second visit is definitely in order this summer!
After the Science Centre we went to this AMAZING Italian restaurant that the guys from Mike's work turned him on to. It. Was. Delish. We got a HUGE pizza and a gourmet cheese salad and were stuffed. Talon had his favourite too, sweet potatoes! All in all a wonderful day!

Kisses and Pulling Himself Up
Sippy Cup!
Talon can drink out of a sippy cup! Sort of. He holds it up to his mouth and can almost tilt it enough to drink out of. The doctor said that since he is on solids to give him some water throughout the day if he needs it. She even told us a sign to show him so that he will understand the sign for "drink". I show him the sign before I give him the sippy cup and give him a sip. Here's a photo of him holding it by himself!
Homemade Baby Food (otherwise known as "yuck!")
So Talon's not a fan. I tried for the first time making my own baby food when Mike and I were having roast chicken one night. I blended organic purple carrots from our Durham Organics delivery and made Talon his first meal. As I said, he's not a fan. I can't figure out why! When I did the Make It and Take It class where we made our own baby food we used the same process. Boil, puree, freeze, heat, eat. Maybe the carrots I made weren't blended to perfection, who knows. But anyways, here's proof that he didn't enjoy the first meal made by mom.

More Teeth and Waving Bye-bye!
Talon has two more teeth! His left and right eye teeth came through on April 29th. He seemed to be in more pain when these ones came through than with his first and second teeth. Poor buddy.
Talon also has waved bye bye! He copied me when I was opening and closing my hand waving at him. After a few tries he repeated it and then did it to the waitress at the sushi restaurant, haha. He has done it a few times since then!
